Alan ‘ Ho Kyeong’ Kim

PhD Researcher

Alan is a PhD candidate,  funded as part of the RMIT | Boeing Research Alliance, specialising in large-scale 3D printing and innovative material integration, with a particular emphasis on carbon fiber and polyepoxides to produce intricate fibrous tectonics. His work centers around amalgamation of skin, structure, and ornament using advanced robotic 3D printing strategies, resulting in lightweight sacrificial formwork. Prior to joining the Tectonic Formation Lab, Alan has professional experiences in Melbourne, Sydney and Seoul with a Master of Architecture degree from RMIT University. Alan's research contributes to the large scale 3D Printing, carbon fibre and fibrous formation to the lab.
